The Cake Smash Experience
Smash & Splash is a great way to celebrate your child’s 1st birthday.
With lots of fun, mess, smiles and happy laughter.
Your session will start with their one-year portrait.
I will start snapping away to get those beautiful images of your birthday boy or girl, before moving on to the fun part of their birthday shoot.
Even if they don’t dive in face first, your little one will have lots of fun and the icing will soon be flying around the studio!
Thankfully, after that it’s straight into my tiny tub on set, for some bubbly fun.
They’ll love the rubber ducks on hand, these create a nice distraction from the camera and lights.
I’ll capture some images of your little one splashing around, and as a bonus, they’ll be handed back to you squeaky clean.

Pricing and Investment
To secure your Cake Smash session I charge a non-refundable session fee of £100.
This covers the session itself, all the props and styling, the relevant and necessary insurances and the viewing appointment.
This is deducted off your final chosen package.

Cake Smash sessions take place Monday - Saturday starting at 10am and 12pm.

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS
STEP 1

Fill out my contact form below and when you would like your session. I will get back to you within 24 hours with my availability.
First birthday sessions are usually scheduled around 3 weeks before your baby's birthday, so you will have the images in time for the big day. Alternatively, you can choose to have your session closer to their birthday.
STEP 2
Secure your session
The non-refundable session fee is required to secure your date. I will then pencil your due date in my diary and send you a questionnaire and welcome guide with everything you need to prepare for your session.
STEP 3
The Photoshoot
All you have to do then is turn up!
The session will be held in my cosy home studio in Castle Bromwich.
STEP 4
Delivering photos
2 weeks after your session, you'll receive your private online viewing gallery, where you can select your favourite images and choose the collection that feels right for you.
The £100 session fee will be deducted off your final chosen package.

FAQ
What is the best time to book a session?
First birthday sessions are usually scheduled around 3 weeks before your baby's birthday, so you will have the images in time for the big day. Alternatively, you can choose to have your session closer to their birthday.
What should my child wear?
I have a selection of outfits at the studio that photograph beautifully and fit in with my vision. You can bring an outfit of choice for the portrait part of the session if you wanted.
What if my baby has allergies / dairy intolerances?
If your child has allergies or food intolerances then I kindly ask that you supply the cake. I will then deduct £30 off your chosen package.
What if my child doesn't co-operate with the cake?
It is common for babies not to enjoy the cake and that's fine. Sometimes hiding familiar snacks inside the cake will help them get stuck in!
